Khepera Scarab Collection

 

The scarab beetle in ancient antiquity was referred as “Khepera” meaning “coming into being”. The Khepera beetle was observed pushing a dung ball (full of eggs) long distances, until the eggs are ready to hatch. The Khepera beetle, via observation, appeared to follow the trajectory of the sun, pushing the ball with its hind legs, until the new life growing in the dung ball, we’re ready to come forth into day.  (transformation, birth). Traditionally It is worn to celebrate and acknowledged the beetle’s life cycle and tenacity, both in keeping with the path of the Sun. Khepera, Coming forth by Day, along the path of RA (life, birth, death and rebirth).
